Sightseeing in London - Summer 2019
April 29, 2019
Summer ’19 is set to be a great one! With Luxian of London chauffeur service, it will be even greater. If you’re looking for a few sightseeing ideas as the summer sun returns to London’s skyline, take a look at our list below.
Everyone loves Harry Potter, including us. That’s why we recommend visiting the Warner Bros. Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter to see the actual sets used in filming the epic adventures of Harry Potter from the Philosophers Stone to the Deathly Hallows.
If you’re visiting London and would like to include the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in your sightseeing adventure, book a Luxian of London chauffeur so you arrive in style to the Wizarding World in Watford.
It may not be one of the oldest members of London’s iconic skyline, but it is certainly the tallest giving it one of the best views of the entire city and beyond. The Shard has a variety of bars and restaurants from Oblix to Aqua Shard, it is the perfect spot to grab some food/drink while taking in the spectacular view.
In addition, The View from the Shard (located on floors 69-72), is a 360 degree viewing gallery open to the public to take in that awesome view from every possible angle.
One of London’s iconic palaces, Hampton Court Palace is open to the public to soak in some history and culture and get lost in the superbly fun Royal Maze. Located on the south-westerly fringes of London, Hampton Court Palace is a wonderful place to take the family and learn about the Tudors, Henry VIII, his wives and the long history associated with the palace and Britain.
Technically this one’s not a ‘sight’, more of an experience. If you’re interested in doing a bit of wine and cheese tasting while you’re in London, be sure to check out Vivat Bacchus, located in Farringdon and London Bridge. We’re told by our friend Pineapple Princess that it’s “nothing short of fabulous”.
Looking for something to do this May Bank Holiday weekend? Check out Funicular Productions’ The Murder Express where guests are immersed in 1930s London aboard a train carriage where they get to enjoy a four-course meal, cocktails and a murder mystery puzzle involving diamonds to riddle your brain.
The great thing about having a personal chauffeur is that you’re not limited to where you can travel. Oxford is a hugely popular UK tourist destination outside of London which you can explore within a day. From the beautiful settings of Christ Church College, as used in the filming of Harry Potter movies, to Alice’s Shop, the place where Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland stories spawned.
